Five members of the infamous computer hacking group LulzSec have been arrested by law enforcement agencies and will face charges in a New York court.

A law enforcement official has confirmed the allegations would be made public on Tuesday in court.

Earlier Fox News reported that three of the arrested members have already been charged with conspiracy. The five arrested are identified in the report as Ryan Ackroyd, aka "Kayla" and Jake Davis, aka "Topiary" from London, two residents of Ireland, Darren Martyn, aka "pwnsauce" and Donncha O'Cearrbhail, aka "palladium", and Jeremy Hammond aka "Anarchaos," from Chicago, USA.

It is reported that the arrests were made possible after turning the group’s "senior leader", Hector Xavier Monsegur "Sabu", 28, who is believed to be a cooperative witness after the FBI unmasked him last June.

Monsegur "Sabu" is also believed to be the man behind the Stratfor hack in December, in which millions of emails were stolen and then published on whistleblower website WikiLeaks. Hammond is believed to have been the main person behind hack on US security company Stratfor in December.

Following the report, Anonymous posted on its Twitter feed: “Don't you get it by now? #Anonymous is an idea. #Anonymous is a movement. It will keep growing, adapting and evolving, no matter what.

It is unclear what to expect from Anonymous in reaction to the arrests. The hacking group is known for revenge cyber attacks. After 25 Anonymous members were arrested on February 29, the group downed Interpol’s main website. The same scenario was when CIA website became a victim of Anonymous. "We do it for the Lulz," referring to the popular online abbreviation "for laughs," Anonymous explained the reasons of the attack. Anonymous also succeeded in crashing several entertainment industry giants, including the file-sharing site Megaupload. The reason given for that was the same: "For the Lulz."

There has been no official comment from the FBI so far.
