Morpheus: [to Neo who is choosing the red pill] Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.

Morpheus: I see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?

Neo: No.

Morpheus: Why not?

Neo: Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life.

Morpheus: I know *exactly* what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Neo: The Matrix.

Morpheus: Do you want to know what it is?

Neo: Yes.

Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.

Morpheus: I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it.

I don't like the idea that I am not in control of my life.

It is not about laws or rules, it is about being lied to and not being able to make the right choices for your life. We woke up and realized that everyone is trying to sell us something, trying to get us to buy into their dreams. We brought it at first, we paid the high prices to peek at the dreams. We put it on credit, and we work because we owe.

The first part of being free is owning your own dreams. Live the life you aspire to, do not pay to watch someone else live for you.

The second part of being free is knowing. Your failures in life up to this point was not your fault. You were unable to make the right choices because you were denied access to the answers you needed. The answers exist. They do not want you to have the answers, they do not want you to choose. They want Fear, Uncertainty, and despair -because it makes people do nothing, it makes them fail, and gives right to others to manage your life for you.

Those who know are responsible to protect others who do not know. The next neo is waiting and searching for the answer, waiting for the next Morpheus...
